Tunnel Vision [69/365]

There are those times where you are so focused on what you’re doing (or what you want to do), that you forget some other tasks that you had planned.

This was the case once more for me yesterday. I was focused (although not on something productive), and completely forgot about writing my daily post.

I have been struggling about this for a while now, and I don’t think there is a perfect solution.

I tried setting up alarms, and they are a great tool, but you need to be sure that you’ll have the time right or you can just blow past it very easily and forget to achieve the task.

You can have reminders right below your computer screen, but you’ll forget about them by the end of the hour and they will just become part of your office landscape, if they don’t become extra stressors of what you have to do. The same applies to setting up a wallpaper, and that’s if you ever get to see it (I don’t, I always have a full screen application open).

This is why I try to do things daily, and stopped trying to schedule weekly. Daily, I get to remember it way more easily. Weekly, I’ll probably forget about it, won’t have the time, or just end up with something so big that I don’t even want to start tackling it because it’s overwhelming.

So I’ll keep trying my best daily. There is no other day than today
