Developing a Platform Is the Best Move [36/365]

When getting started, no one know who you are, what you do or what you can bring them. If you create a product, why would anyone buy it ?

Instead, start by creating a platform. Choose your topic, and start bringing value by teaching what you just learned, especially as a beginner.

For me, that is going to be about full-stack development with Rust and Elm. I want to show what are the upsides to choosing those technologies, how to use them, make them work together well. I want to show how to do what you can do in other languages (like Javascript) in those so that both I and other developers don’t have to look for it for hours.

To do that, I will keep working on a project, but for the (almost) sole purpose of learning and teaching. I will release the project and keep improving on it, but I want it more to be a showcase than my main income source.

This approach will let me both learn, teach, create and grow a platform wrapped as a single project.

This is both learning and building in public.
